Summit addresses enhanced financial systems, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

Dallas, Texas - May 26, 2003 - More than 60 financial executives from the United States and Canada attended the first customer summit for companies running the SQL Financials application hosted by BizNet Software, May 15-16 in Dallas.  The summit focused on helping companies make more informed business decisions related to their SQL Financials investment.

George McMann, President and CEO of BizNet Software, said the summit was a rousing success.  "The level of participation was indicative of the importance - given the increased scrutiny of financial reporting - of having a system in place that accurately aggregates and analyzes a company's financial data."

"We were surprised at the level of interest in our first summit and, based on our post-summit survey, we are confident the attendees left with valuable and applicable information," McMann said.

McMann said the increased scrutiny places additional pressure on accounting departments, which find themselves in a catch-22 situation - they must produce more reports in less time.  "Executives want to see the details behind the numbers to get a better understanding of the business, and they want the numbers as soon as possible," he said.

Many of the two-day summit's presentations - by BizNet executives, as well as representatives from Haynes & Boone and Resources Connection - addressed these issues.  A session on Sarbanes-Oxley, held on the summit's second day, attracted a standing room-only crowd at the conference center.
